Process for Gathering information

I offer the following free services, which require some type of voluntary submission of personal information by users:

“Get a Quote” form submission

You may choose to enter your details to receive further information relating to getting pricing on our products or services. The information gathered from this form is used for identifying your needs and to provide contact information for further communication about products and services as specifically requested.

“Contact Us” form submission

You may choose to request further information or ask questions directly from the online enquiry form. The information gathered will be used to make contact and provide answers to questions and not for any other purpose.

I offer the following paid services, which require some type of voluntary submission of personal information by users:

Bookings and product purchases

When you make a booking or purchase a product I also record your contact details. The information gathered will be used to make contact with you and provide the product or service you have paid for. I do not record or keep bank or credit card details. These details are kept with third party providers that I use to process your payment.

Children

Consistent with the Federal Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998 (COPPA), I will never knowingly request personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 13 without requesting parental consent.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site I collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Analytics

I use standard Google analytics on the site to help me get a clearer idea of who goes were. Please have a look at how Google records your IP and other relevant data.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on my website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where we send your data

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

Opt-out Policy

We give users options wherever necessary and practical. Such choices include:

Opting not to participate in certain interactive areas, which completely alleviates the need to gather any personally identifiable information from our users. Contact via email or phone to request the deletion of personal information or correspondence

What third parties we receive data from

None of your data that you give me is passed on to anyone. That’s it!

What automated decision making and/or profiling I do with user data

I don’t! I don’t have enough time to hunt you down to that degree, plus that is just spooky.
