Katie's Salon Update For October

It’s October already! Summer is coming hopefully, and with it warmer weather. If you haven’t been in to the salon for a while we have a fantastic team. Helen is in her 15th year with Ella Bache Hobart, Larissa is in her second year here and second decade as a beauty therapist. Hayley has returned to Ella Bache after training here over 14 years ago and working practically everywhere since. Catherine has just celebrated her first year with us this month.

Finn is in her second year here and at the moment we have Giorgia our fantastic work experience lady who is doing huge work behind the scenes cleaning and prepping.

At Ella Bache we offer a lot of services. It is one of the things that struck me when I bought this salon in early 2023. We don’t just do the traditional beauty services such as waxing and tinting, we also offer lash lifts and nails and facials. Although we do a lot of waxing and we do it well, it is probably facials that are our most important and impactful offering, as these are not just a beauty service, they directly address the health of your skin.

In my time here at Ella Bache I have seen how fantastic the products are for skin. I have used salon grade skin care for a few decades, starting off using MD Formulations from Papillon, and have used Ultraceuticals, Dermalogica and Paula’s Choice. I have used some very active products from these other brands, and I used to really only be aware of the active ingredients, the salicylic acid, retinol and so forth and went straight for them. Because I was buying online I didn’t have anyone giving me advice and I ended up drying my skin out and making it quite sensitive, something that I am a bit prone to, having dry skin overall.

But then I started using Ella Bache products and I asked Helen for advice. She recommended that I stop all my active ingredients and use a pH balanced cleanser and the sensibeutics serum and a gentle moisturiser. Since I have done that I have seen the redness in my cheeks and my dryness and fine lines decrease. I am now adding back in courses of vitamin c serum or some retinol, but in a controlled way.
I have seen plenty of other skin success stories in the last year and a half. We have had a few younger teenage girls with quite heavy acne who have responded incredibly well to a PH balanced cleanser, retinol and a gentle moisturiser. Many have seen a decrease in active acne within three days, particularly when they combine these products with LED blue light therapy.

LED blue light is clinically proven to kill acne vulgaris, the bacteria responsible for acne. A four week course of blue light 2-3 times a week has dramatic results on acne on adults and teenagers. The LED light is also amazing for scarring and collagen stimulation. You might have heard of LED’s benefits and I encourage you to give it a go. Our Medilux LED is medical grade, one of the two most effective LED machines on the market.

Hair Removal

We are also excited to remind you that we offer IPL for collage stimulation and hair removal. The hair removal offers permanent hair reduction. I am incredibly impressed and have personally seen almost 100% of hairs disappear after ONE session.
